Spazio F9, Cannaregio (Venice)

The intervention involved all the building's construction elements, starting with the complete emptying of the space and its reconstruction from the inside to adapt it to its new function as an exhibition space. Partial demolitions and consolidations of load-bearing walls were carried out to ensure the building's structural integrity. The roof was entirely replaced, and a new mezzanine was built using steel beams. The roof was completely replaced and a new mezzanine was built using steel girders. Iron stairs were reconstructed to ensure accessibility to the exhibition spaces, while the floor was covered with a modern resin to give the rooms a contemporary look. All interior plaster and stucco were demolished and restored, giving the space a renewed and neat look. This transformation turned the nearly collapsing former carpentry workshop into a modern and welcoming space, ready to host art exhibitions and cultural events, thus contributing to the revitalization of the Cannaregio district and enriching Venice’s cultural landscape.
