Private mansion, Dorsoduro (Venice)

The project began with the complete roofer-roofing of one wing of the palace, including the full restoration of the roof-terrace ("altana"), restoring its former splendour and providing better protection from the elements. The noble floor saw a series of carefully planned interventions. The repair of deteriorated plaster ensured the structural and aesthetic integrity of the walls, restoring the original beauty of the interiors. The construction of plasterboard ceilings improved the thermal and acoustic insulation of the spaces, providing a smooth and uniform surface for painting and lighting. An innovative solution was the creation of a new bathroom as part of a hidden furniture arrangement, adding modern conveniences without disrupting the harmony of the historical spaces. The complete restoration of the Venetian terrazzo floors revitalized the elegance of the interiors while respecting Venetian tradition. The restoration of stucco in the main hall renewed one of the palace's most representative spaces, enhancing its majesty and elegance. The painting of the remaining rooms was carefully executed, choosing shades that reflect the desired luminosity and atmosphere. Finally, the careful restoration of the window frames improved thermal and acoustic insulation, enhancing security without altering the historical appearance of the windows. These interventions transformed the palace, making it not only more beautiful and functional but also more sustainable and comfortable for its inhabitants, all while respecting its priceless historical and cultural value.
