Private flat, Santa Croce (Venice)

One of the distinctive features of the apartment is the generous height of the living room, which inspired the creation of an ingenious solution for easy access to books and the elevated mezzanine, previously isolated and difficult to reach. To make the most of this space, a multifunctional "library-staircase" was designed. This structure not only facilitates access to the mezzanine but enriches the living room with new perspectives, transforming the area into a place where historical charm meets modern functionality. Respecting the original structures, the restoration integrated modern components with a philological approach, enhancing the pre-existing features without altering their essence. This intervention improved both the aesthetic and practical aspects of the apartment, highlighting the harmony between past and present, typical of Venetian architecture. This fusion of old and new makes every room in the apartment a living example of how historical heritage can meet modern comfort.
