Restoration of the Diesel Store in the heart of Venice

In 2025, we completed the restoration of the Diesel Store in Piazza San Marco, a particularly prestigious project both for its location and technical complexity, carried out in collaboration with L&S Group, a company with over 40 years of experience in creating bespoke retail environments for international luxury and lifestyle brands. The project required careful structural consolidation, in particular for the creation of new openings in load-bearing masonry to accommodate large display windows. We carried out temporary shoring, removed existing masonry, installed HEB 180 and IPE 360 beams and created reinforced foundations with BI Mortar Levelling Sail pourable concrete. The assembly of the metal structures was supervised by our blacksmiths, in coordination with the entire project team. Inside, we installed composite slabs, chipped and plastered the surfaces, carefully restored part of the ceiling plaster and laid concrete on the landings. To ensure the functionality and safety of the premises, steel tie rods were installed along the structure, consolidating the entire shell. The construction site required careful logistical management: materials and special waste were transported by adapted boats, with numerous coordinated trips to comply with schedules and regulations. The project enhanced the commercial space, making it functional and safe, while respecting the delicate architectural context of St. Mark's Square. This is an example of the integration of structural engineering, craftsmanship and contemporary design at the service of high-end retail.
